Meet the 2024 All-Metro boys basketball team (2)

The Post-Dispatch All-Metro player of the year. The 6-foot guard was a dynamo. He led the area in scoring with an average of 31.5 points per game (851 points in 27 games). It's the most points scored by an area player in a single season since Whitfield's Torrence Watson (893) in 2018. Collins also led St. Mary's with averages of 6.7 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 3.4 steals. He scored 30 or more points 13 times, topping 40 points four separate times including a career high of 46 twice. Helped guide Dragons to 27 wins, their most since 2017-18, and a district runner-up finish to Class 5 third-place finisher Vianney. Class 5 player of the year by the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association.

Class 6 co-player of the year by Missouri Basketball Coaches Association.A 6-foot-2 guard, Jackson was the driving force behind consecutive state championships for the Lions, this season in the state's largest classification for the first time. The Lindenwood University signee averaged 10.5 points, 6.7 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 3.4 steals. A three-year starter for coach Ryan Johnson, Jackson scored 843 points and had 253 assists in his career. Had 12 points and 10 assists in a state semifinal victory against Springfield Central.Scored a season-high 24 points in a 71-60 victory at Tolton.

A Class 5 all-state and all-Metro Catholic Conference first-team selection, Massey helped power Spartans to their first state championship since 1999 and most victories (27) since the 1999-2000 season. The 6-foot-4 guard averaged a team-leading14.1 points to go along with 4.3 rebounds. 3.8 assists and 1.5 steals per game. Massey scored in double figures in 24 games, including a career-high 26 points in a victory against Sacred Heart-Griffin. Had 21 points in Class 5 title game win over Jefferson City. Was a third-team All-Metro boys volleyball selection last season after leading Spartans to Class 3 state championship.

Class 4 player of the year by Missouri Basketball Coaches Association.The 6-foot-7 winger helped guide the Wolverines to their fifth successive state championship. Randall, drawing the attention of opposing defenses down low, averaged10.5 points, 7.4 rebounds and 1.3 blocks. Randall has helped Vashon to 77 victories in three seasons. Had 10 points and 13 rebounds in state semifinal victory against Kansas City Central, one of his eight double-doubles this season. Scored a career-high 20 points against Alexander, Ga., in Washington, Ill.

The Metro Catholic Conference player of the year and a Class 5 all-state selection, Walsh was a lightning rod for the Golden Griffins as they reached the state semifinals for the first time since 2013, finishing third. The 6-foot-2 guard led Vianney to a 25-7 record by ranking among area leaders with a scoring average of 22.9 points a game, making 85.9 percent of his free throws (140 of 163), while also providing 3.1 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 2 steals per game. He scored 1,680 points in his three-year career.

All-Metro boys basketball second team

Only played one season with Wolverines after transferring from CBC but absolutely made the most of it. The 6-foot-5 guard led the 15-time state champions with a scoring average of 13.2 points.Also averaged 3.4 rebounds, 1.4 steals and 1.1 assists.Scored season-high 25 points in Class 4 state title game win over John Burroughs.

A Class 2A all-state first team selection, Donald did a little bit of everything for the 24-win Eagles. The 6-foot-8 guard led team with averages of 20.9 points, 8.4 rebounds and 3.2 assists. He is the first Eagles player to break the 600-point barrier in a season. Scored in double figures in all but one game, topped by a 36-point outing.

A 6-foot-5 guard and all-state selection, Parker scored a team-leading 10.6 points a game and also averaged 5.2 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 1.4 assists as the Lions won the Class 6 state championship, the program's fourth in five seasons.Scored career-high 20 points and grabbed seven rebounds in state semifinal win over Springfield Central.

GAC South Division most valuable player and a Class 6 all-state selection. A 6-foot-7 forward, Paulson scored a team-high 18 points a game and also averaged 6.2 rebounds. Helped lead Vikings to 26 wins, conference and district title before falling in Class 6 quarterfinals. Topped 20 points in a game 13 times this year, with a season-high 35.

Metro League player of the year and Class 4 all-state selection averaged nearly a double-double at 16.5 points and 9.4 rebounds a game. The 6-foot-8 forward also ranked among area leaders with 2.8 blocks per game. Reed had 18 double-doubles, including season highs of 31 points and 17 rebounds, as Bombers finished as state runner-up.

All-Metro boys basketball third team

A 6-foot-3 guard, Harris was a Class 4A third-team all-state selection after helping the Panthers win 21 games and finish as Southwestern Conference runner-up. Harris led O'Fallon with 8.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.1 steals a game. He also averaged 10.7 points. Signed to play at McKendree University.

The 6-foot-2 guard helped the Red Devils finish as the Class 6 state runner-up and share the Metro Catholic Conference crown. He had 12 points and 18 rebounds in a state semifinal win over Oak Park. An all-state selection, Perry led team with 10.9 points per game and also averaged 5.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.7 steals.

Suburban Yellow Conference player of the year helped Statesmen to 21 wins and league crown. UMSL signee and Class 5 all-state selection led team with 15.8 points, 9.4 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game. Finished four-year career with 1,347 points, 731 rebounds.

Class 4 all-state selection helped South Central champion Blue Devils to first 20-win season since 2013. A 6-foot-4 guard who has signed with State Fair Community College, he ranked among area scoring leaders with an average of 22.9 points per game. He averaged 5 assists, 4 rebounds and 3.1 steals.

A true floor general, the 6-foot-2 guard led Cougars to a 32-3 season, their second consecutive sectional final and unbeaten run through the Cahokia Conference Mississippi Division. A second-team Class 2A all-state pick, Shubert averaged 8.3 points, 4.5 assists, 3.4 rebounds and 1.3 steals.
