More Dangerous Heat Today Before Storms ArriveJACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – Rain is finally on the way today!. Heat advisories remain in effect for dangerous heat before the rain gets here. Highs will likely still make it to the mid-90s before the rain cools us off. It will feel as hot as 110 degrees for some. As far as timing is concerned, it looks like the stormy weather will start by lunchtime in our northernmost zones. As the system approaches those areas there will be a small potential for a few severe storms containing damaging wind gusts and hail. This system will lose steam as it continues through central MS. Rain should make it to the I-20 corridor by about 4 PM, then move through our southern areas into the mid to late evening.
